The Advisory and Extension Division (AED) is mainly responsible for providing and disseminating technical know-how on tea cultivation aspects to the stakeholders, and thereby contributing towards adoption of technologies and good agricultural practices at the field level. Various services are made available to the industry by the Advisory and Extension Division through its main centre at Talawakelle and six Regional Extension Centers located in Ratnapura, Kandy, Passara, Galle, Deniyaya and Kalutara. The AED also involves in identification of technology needs of the industry through interactions with stakeholders and research divisions of the TRI. The division adopts various extension approaches in the form of different projects as given below to ensure effective dissemination of technologies to stakeholders and get feedback from them.
