Commencement of Work Year 2024

The work for the year 2024 of the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka (TRISL) at Head Office, Talawakelle, and Regional Centres at Ratnapura, Hantana, Passara, Kottawa, Deniyaya, Mathugama and TRISL managed Estates at St. Coombs, Talawakelle and St. Joachim, Rathnapura began with a charm official ceremony held today. In parallel, a Pirith chanting ceremony, Hindu and Christian prayers were held with the commencement of work.

In line with the Public Administration Circular No. 25/2023 on the official Ceremony to mark the commencement of duties of service stations for the year 2024, the Chairman of the Tea Research Board and Director of the TRISL hoisted the National flag in the presence of Deputy Director (Administration), Heads of Divisions, Scientists, Technical and Administration Staff, Staff and workers of St. Coombs Estate which was followed by the National Anthem.

After observing two minute silence to commemorate the war heroes and others who sacrificed their lives for the motherland, and who lost the life at an unfortunate accident in 2015 at the TRI, the Oath of Public Servants was given by all staff and workers of the Institute.

Mr. C S Lokuhetti, the Chairman of the Tea Research Board and Dr. Keerthi Mohotti, Director of the Institute highlight the commitment and contribution of the TRISL scientists and all staff to fulfill stakeholder requisites to suit to current issues in the industry. Further, emphasizes the importance of ensuring the prompt actions and unwavering contribution of all staff as a team with a well-defined focus to serve the industry efficiently and to overcome the present challenges of the country.
