Students of Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), China visit to TRISL on 25 August 2023

A group of university of students attached to Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), China visited the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka at Talawakelle, coordinated by the Agricultural Education Unit of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya.

They were offered with knowledge on TRISL responsible approaches on R&D focus to address industry issues; tea cultivar developemnt and breeding for future needs, agronomical practices, integrated pest and disease management, tea manufacturing and socio-economic aspects of tea industry in Sri Lanka. The TRISL scientists provided them with lectures and field excursions on scientific basis and tea culture, processing and hands on experience on field works during this visit. Further, HZAU, China is keen to make proposals for collaboration with the TRISL and UOP on academic and research.
